“You Ain’t Ready” for Vida

With Vida Guerra’s album nearing the supposed release date (I will be qualifying the phrase release date with supposed because no one really knows when it really will come out. Better err on the side of caution) there are still no definite track listings being talked about.

One song though that Vida has talked about in the press lengthily is the song called “You Ain’t Ready”. I don’t know if this song will survive the final track listing for the album but since we are a bit lacking in the information department let us just assume that it will indeed make the final cut.

Vida said that the You Ain’t Ready could be taken or understood in two very different ways. She said that on the one hand it could be like her having a hard time finding a guy. She said that since she’s a sex symbol men are actually afraid of approaching her and even if they do, they approach her in a different way. She said that it is kind of hard to find someone who is really nice and has actual good intentions. In this manner every guy is like “Yea, I can put it down” but she says that she would just say “no, you ain’t ready” meaning he is not ready for her and what she wants. In another light it can be seen as the music industry not yet being ready for someone like Vida because they do not know that Vida has a talent in singing. She said that she used to sing since she was young but that kind of got waylaid because of other things but then opportunities presented itself and here she is going back to what she used to do before.
