Vida Guerra’s new album, if rumors are to be believed, is very near its release. Last November, a single was allegedly leaked to clubs and radio stations although a search on the net has still failed and I still have not listened to the said single (maybe someone out there has an idea where to get it). The album has been delayed a number of times with Vida’s handlers and she herself has said that the reason for the delay is that they are polishing the tracks off the album. With January fast approaching (just a few more days till 2007!) anticipation for the album’s release is being felt by Vida fans.

The biggest speculation really is how the album will sound. What kind of music will Vida present to the public. Vida has said time and again that it will be mixture of R & B and hip hop. More telling though is her statement that she will sing but not like Mariah Carey singing and she will rap but not like what Jay-Z does. It is kind of an ambiguous comparison and this is where most of the speculation comes from. Some fans are saying that she may be trying to present a whole new style with the album as a way of going around what some perceive as limitations in her vocal talents. This could be true but at this point all conjecture is fair game until we actually listen to the album. I do hope Theme Park gets released real soon so we can hear for ourselves what Vida is capable of doing.
