In my last post, I talked about the leaked single that is being distributed on the internet by ardent Vida Guerra fans. The single is supposed to have been lifted from Vida’s forthcoming album entitled Theme Park (I think this is going to be the final title). Some say that it is just a publicity stunt to create a buzz for the imminent release of the album. I myself have not heard the song yet so I cannot really make any kind of assessment about the song. Suffice to say that Vida has described the album as being R & B with rapping and with rapping, she said that she is not doing it 50 Cent style but more like flowing. She also said that she will be singing but not in the way that we see Mariah Carey or Celine Dion sing. I am looking forward to hearing the album because of her descriptions. For me, there is an opportunity to present something different and based on what Vida said, I do hope that it really is going to be different.

Vida has said that she came from a musical family, having grown up in Cuba where, she said, they did not own a TV set. She said that her father plays the guitar so she grew up listening to music and seeing music made. Even though they were in Cuba though, her father was able to listen to Elvis, The Beatles and Paul Anka, which of course became the music she grew up with. Right now, Vida says she admires Madonna and Mary J Blige.
